With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maximiliano Astudillo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Manuel Cordera fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SAN MARTIN F.C.'s protests and gave Manuel Cordera a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SAN MARTIN F.C. getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Manuel Cordera hit a great ball. In the 29th minute Abelardo Roland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabricio Steven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute, Victorino Servando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bernardino Ospin, 31 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. The SAN MARTIN F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maximiliano Astudillo should have stopped the shot. After 44 minutes, Victorino Servando mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Martin de Tucuman and the SAN MARTIN F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Manuel Cordera's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabricio Steven read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Esteban Bitxintxo made a kick off. Maximiliano Astudillo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Esteban Bitxintxo went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Esteban Bitxintxo got free with Maximiliano Astudillo in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 66 minutes into the match, SAN MARTIN F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Esteban Bitxintxo came free, but Maximiliano Astudillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabricio Steven showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Roland, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After 70 minutes of play, San Martin de Tucuman's Alfonso Weather made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maximiliano Astudillo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in SAN MARTIN F.C.'s zone, Alfredo Eguerdi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maximiliano Astudillo came out of the goal and Alfredo Eguerdi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alejandro Mendebal's late challenge caught a San Martin de Tucuman's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alejandro Mendebal helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to SAN MARTIN F.C. getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Alejandro Mendebal hit a great ball. After 85 played minutes San Martin de Tucuman got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Victoro.
