The audience thought a goal was coming when Gualterio Florin got free with Prospero Matxin in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Tercero in the 25th minute of play forced 17 de enero team's goalkeeper Prospero Matxin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, 17 de enero team's Melquiades Tome got a free kick in the 25th minute. If Carlos Frascuelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Esteban Ulizes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 37th minute Carlos Frascuelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filiberto Aguilera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Filiberto Aguilera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Frascuelo's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Filiberto Aguilera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Frascuelo in the 41st minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 55th minute, Moises Tercero made a precise shot to the right of Prospero Matxin. 17 de enero team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Frascuelo in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Filiberto Aguilera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 65 minutes into the match, Lanús's goalkeeper Filiberto Aguilera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baltasar Millano. Gualterio Florin hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Filiberto Aguilera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Frascuelo in the 73rd minute of the match. Esteban Ulizes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Filiberto Aguilera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the game, 17 de enero team's Esteban Ulizes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Filiberto Aguilera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 87th minute Baltasar Millano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filiberto Aguilera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91st minute, Baltasar Millano reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Filiberto Aguilera. The goal made the score 1-2. The Lanús fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. 17 de enero team were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
