In the 7th minute, Wlodzimierz Siwy left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newcastle United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. A collision led to Newcastle United getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Dawid Zacharek hit a great ball. Red Army's Iwan Pawlik shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 11th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Kajetan Kossakowski but with some difficulty. The supporters of Red Army booed when Newcastle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustaw Nuszkowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hieronim Huk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mateusz Polakowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Newcastle United's Kajetan Kossakowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Newcastle United from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waclaw Zagrobelny in the 20th minute of play forced Red Army's goalkeeper Hieronim Huk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute Mateusz Polakowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hieronim Huk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Red Army's goal looked a bit too open when Waclaw Zagrobelny came free, but Hieronim Huk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hieronim Huk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waclaw Zagrobelny in the 27th minute of play. Kajetan Kossakowski was a little too slow when Przemyslaw Okopny got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 1-1. Kajetan Kossakowski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Przemyslaw Okopny in the 31st minute. Red Army's Hieronim Huk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dawid Zacharek in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zbigniew Kalinowski in the 43rd minute of play forced Red Army's goalkeeper Hieronim Huk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's goal looked a bit too open when Benedykt Majewski came free, but Kajetan Kossakowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 46 minutes into the game, when Zygmunt Pisarcik put in a rough tackle. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
