Fabian Tworek didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Barnaba Banas went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Wawrzyniec Ewertowski charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wawrzyniec Ewertowski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Zagłębie Dąbrowskie getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Wawrzyniec Ewertowski hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the game, Miroslaw Ziomkowski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S04 Silesia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zagłębie Dąbrowskie the free kick. A collision led to S04 Silesia getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Miroslaw Ziomkowski hit a great ball. Fabian Tworek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barnaba Banas in the 16th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, S04 Silesia's goal looked a bit too open when Barnaba Banas came free, but Fabian Tworek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute Barnaba Banas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Tworek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabian Tworek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barnaba Banas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juliusz Marek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Fabian Tworek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 37 played minutes S04 Silesia got a freekick which was hit by Miroslaw Bielecki. In the 47th match minute, S04 Silesia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tadeusz Falkiewicz to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Zagłębie Dąbrowskie were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eugeniusz Okraszewski to make the kick off. Lucjan Oborski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tadeusz Falkiewicz in the 56th minute of the match. If Miroslaw Bielecki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 70 played minutes Zagłębie Dąbrowskie got a freekick which was hit by Leon Plaski. S04 Silesia's Tadeusz Falkiewicz got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 96 minutes, Florian Kopacz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S04 Silesia and the Zagłębie Dąbrowskie players grew even worse after the yellow card.
