Spectators: 172 (Terracing: 130, Seating: 39, VIP seats: 3) Saco FC's Thorbjørn Engsholm started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Saco FC's Jannich Brolyng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Bøndorff in the 7th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Harry Bøndorff ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jannich Brolyng was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Hønning's Buster Roschmann got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thorbjørn Engsholm's late challenge caught a Hønning's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thorbjørn Engsholm helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Saco FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Thorbjørn Engsholm hit a great ball. Viktor Hurvig kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Rune Bojel kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Marc Haugsted, 22 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Harry Bøndorff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jannich Brolyng having to interfere. Pierre Gurstov kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Pierre Gurstov dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Børge Ryal, 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Harry Bøndorff to make the kick off. After 50 played minutes Hønning got a freekick which was hit by Helmuth Hennig. In the 54th minute of the match, Harry Bøndorff tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jannich Brolyng saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 57th play minute Helmuth Hennig came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jannich Brolyng. 1-2. Jannich Brolyng made an important save on a dangerous shot by Knud Elmbæk in the 61st minute. Saco FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Harry Bøndorff 63 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. In the 66th match minute, Hønning was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Helmuth Hennig to maneuver through the defense. In the 72nd minute, Helmuth Hennig made a precise shot to the right of Jannich Brolyng. Saco FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. In the 75th minute of the match, Harry Bøndorff tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jannich Brolyng saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Wolfgang Bartolini took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Børge Ryal. Børge Ryal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Saco FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Harry Bøndorff scored to the left of an out of position Jannich Brolyng, making the score, 2-5. A collision led to Hønning getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Marc Haugsted hit a great ball. When Wolfgang Bartolini came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Saco FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wolfgang Bartolini couldn't finish the play. The Hønning supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hønning would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
