After 4 minutes FC Truseni's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ian Depasquale who took care of the corner kick. Philip Griffin made a great header on Sliema Dragons FC's corner, it was just that FC Truseni's Dorel Izmanã managed to reach the ball for a save. Christian Scalpello kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Sliema Dragons FC's Brandon Ellul played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduard Halipa in the 8th minute of play. Dorel Izmanã made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Clint Bezzina sent off a good shot on target. FC Truseni's Dorel Izmanã proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save FC Truseni from getting a goal against them. When Ian Depasquale came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Sliema Dragons FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ian Depasquale couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clint Bezzina got free with Dorel Izmanã in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 22 minutes, Grigore Josan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Truseni and the Sliema Dragons FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sliema Dragons FC made a substitution. Reuben Borda replaced Philip Griffin. In the 23rd minute, Grigore Josan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th match minute, FC Truseni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Viorel Eremciuc to maneuver through the defense. When Sliema Dragons FC's Clint Bezzina in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Truseni's goalie prevented a goal. 28 minutes into the game, Florin Vrednic was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Truseni's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sliema Dragons FC the free kick. In the 28th match minute, FC Truseni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florin Vrednic to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Sliema Dragons FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Nick Abdilla hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Grigore Josan came free, but Brandon Ellul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Sliema Dragons FC booed when FC Truseni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Octavian Tâmbalari didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tudor Fratea hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute of the match Nick Abdilla sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dorel Izmanã skillfully saved the ball. Dorel Izmanã came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Sliema Dragons FC's Clint Bezzina. But to his dismay, Clint Bezzina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Dorel Izmanã showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clint Bezzina, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
Grigore Josan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Brandon Ellul made a huge save. Brandon Ellul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octavian Tâmbalari in the 61st minute of play. Viorel Eremciuc's late challenge caught a Sliema Dragons FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Viorel Eremciuc helped the player get up and apologised. After 64 played minutes FC Truseni got a freekick which was hit by Viorel Eremciuc. Ian Depasquale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dorel Izmanã read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. 68 minutes into the game, Ian Depasquale cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Dorel Izmanã was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Brandon Ellul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octavian Tâmbalari in the 71st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sliema Dragons FC's Kyle Axisa got a free kick in the 76th minute. After 77 played minutes FC Truseni got a freekick which was hit by Tudor Fratea. A collision led to FC Truseni getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Octavian Tâmbalari hit a great ball. 81 minutes into the game, Sliema Dragons FC's Clint Bezzina nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dorel Izmanã made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. 85 minutes into the match, FC Truseni's goal looked a bit too open when Ian Depasquale came free, but Dorel Izmanã reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brandon Ellul made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Tudor Fratea sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Sliema Dragons FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Nick Abdilla hit a great ball. In the 89th minute, Grigore Josan made a precise shot to the right of Brandon Ellul. Sliema Dragons FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Arthur Facciol charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arthur Facciol the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 93rd match minute, Sliema Dragons FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arthur Facciol to maneuver through the defense. Brandon Ellul made an important save on a dangerous shot by Grigore Josan in the 95th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sliema Dragons FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Truseni had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
