Zakhar Dolotko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Testaferrata Viani in the 32nd minute of play. After 32 played minutes Real Madryt got a freekick which was hit by Yaroslav Shybko. In the 38th minute, Vyacheslav Reva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Louis Mamo came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Seraċini Għawdxin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Louis Mamo couldn't finish the play. Zakhar Dolotko made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tommy Genovese in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute, Bogdan Shkred hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zakhar Dolotko made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Tommy Genovese sent off a good shot on target. In the 48th minute, Seraċini Għawdxin's Tony Schiavone ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zakhar Dolotko. Zakhar Dolotko yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bogdan Shkred to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Testaferrata Viani in the 54th minute of play forced Real Madryt's goalkeeper Zakhar Dolotko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th match minute, Real Madryt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasyl Semenjaka to maneuver through the defense. Real Madryt's Zakhar Dolotko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tommy Genovese in the 62nd minute of play. In the 75th minute, Tony Schiavone left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Seraċini Għawdxin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Tony Schiavone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 83 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Real Madryt! The referee gave Seraċini Għawdxin a penalty, 85 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Claudio Meli, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Real Madryt's Zakhar Dolotko. 8-0. Zakhar Dolotko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Schiavone in the 89th minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Seraċini Għawdxin's goalkeeper Dejan Cumbo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bogdan Shkred. After a defensive mix-up in Real Madryt's zone, Louis Mamo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zakhar Dolotko came out of the goal and Louis Mamo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 97 minutes into the match, Real Madryt's goal looked a bit too open when Louis Mamo came free, but Zakhar Dolotko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Seraċini Għawdxin booed when Real Madryt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 101 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marko Svintsitskyi didn't get a good kick on the ball.
