Ramūnas Morkūnas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benjamin Chevalier, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Aleksotas FK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. George Schnitzler was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Lëtzebuerg's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward von Grimmelhausen in the 24th minute of play forced Aleksotas FK's goalkeeper Ramūnas Morkūnas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Edward von Grimmelhausen notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Aleksotas FK's Ramūnas Morkūnas. Ramūnas Morkūnas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Edelmann in the 48th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Dekanis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Benjamin Chevalier's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ramūnas Morkūnas was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. In the 97th minute, Benjamin Chevalier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Lëtzebuerg's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
