Ramūnas Morkūnas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peppino Azzopardi in the 11th minute of play. 12 minutes into the game, Agnius Vosylius was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aleksotas FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Templars FC the free kick. In the 15th minute, Mark Borg Xuereb reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ramūnas Morkūnas. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 20th minute Tomas Dekanis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dylan Pizzuto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ramūnas Morkūnas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mark Borg Xuereb in the 23rd minute of the match. Peppino Azzopardi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Templars FC booed when Aleksotas FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rolandas Ancikevičius didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tomas Dekanis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Aleksotas FK's Tomas Dekanis got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 38th minute of the match, Mark Borg Xuereb got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ramūnas Morkūnas was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 39th minute, Mark Borg Xuereb reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ramūnas Morkūnas. The goal made the score 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mark Borg Xuereb to strike the kick off in the second half. Rolandas Ancikevičius kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Mark Borg Xuereb took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ramūnas Morkūnas. Ramūnas Morkūnas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Ramūnas Morkūnas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mark Borg Xuereb in the 61st minute of play. In the 64th minute, Tomas Dekanis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute, Mark Cuschieri sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Aleksotas FK's Ramūnas Morkūnas didn't even have to move. Ramūnas Morkūnas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peppino Azzopardi, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Mark Borg Xuereb scored 6-0 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ramūnas Morkūnas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ramūnas Morkūnas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark Borg Xuereb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 73 played minutes Aleksotas FK got a freekick which was hit by Valentas Čebatorius. The supporters of Templars FC booed when Aleksotas FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virginijus Geibūnas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aleksotas FK's Ramūnas Morkūnas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mark Borg Xuereb in the 81st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mark Borg Xuereb in the 85th minute of play forced Aleksotas FK's goalkeeper Ramūnas Morkūnas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Aleksotas FK defense, Peppino Azzopardi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ramūnas Morkūnas. The Aleksotas FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ramūnas Morkūnas should have stopped the shot. In the 89th minute Peppino Azzopardi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramūnas Morkūnas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that Templars FC were the better team. Templars FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
