Zekman Gega recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Austen Tanner's late challenge caught a AlbaStars FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Austen Tanner helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th minute, Austen Tanner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Bardhyl Tasellari in the 29th minute really tested Jason Lynch's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 31st minute, Dean Theakston hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. AlbaStars FC's Gazmend Fejzo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joe Rooney in the 34th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Bardhyl Tasellari got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Austen Tanner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zekman Gega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Hill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Gazmend Fejzo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of AlbaStars FC booed when FC Shakhtar Donetsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joe Rooney didn't get a good kick on the ball. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
