But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hondo Linares couldn't finish the play. Hector Uranga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belmiro Hoyuelos, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Bautista Bausa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hector Uranga, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Leones FC's Crescencio Mendiguren got a free kick in the 20th minute. Ajax Colombiano's Cayetano Pujol got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mancio Arana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ponce Perero in the 25th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Nicollao Ovies notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ajax Colombiano's Mancio Arana. Mancio Arana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hector Uranga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Belmiro Hoyuelos in the 33rd minute. Bautista Bausa hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Leones FC's Simon Maseda got a free kick in the 41st minute. Ajax Colombiano made a substitution. Jorge Cerbera replaced Herminio Aujea. In the 45th minute, Ponce Perero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The wind increased when Bautista Bausa made the kick off in the second half. Cayetano Pujol kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Leones FC's Ponce Perero dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Ajax Colombiano's zone, Nicollao Ovies stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mancio Arana came out of the goal and Nicollao Ovies tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 69 minutes, Matias Zuñiga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ajax Colombiano and the Leones FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 69th match minute, Ajax Colombiano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matias Zuñiga to maneuver through the defense. Mancio Arana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ponce Perero, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. The supporters of Leones FC booed when Ajax Colombiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Cerbera didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 96 minutes, Bautista Bausa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ajax Colombiano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bautista Bausa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Bautista Bausa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
