The referee ignored Tapa Red F.C's protests and gave Tiago Herro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 26th match minute, Tapa Red F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiago Herro to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute, Ponce Perero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Nicollao Ovies managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leones FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicollao Ovies was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Esquipula Unanue breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Leones FC's Guillelmus Tendiero got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 33rd match minute, Tapa Red F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celipe Zamarripa to maneuver through the defense. Tapa Red F.C's Esquipula Unanue played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ponce Perero in the 35th minute of play. When Nicollao Ovies came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Leones FC fans jumped to their feet. But to his dismay, Ponce Perero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paolo Orellana got free with Hector Uranga in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leones FC's Hector Uranga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Leones FC from getting a goal against them. After 43 minutes of play, Leones FC's Ponce Perero made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Esquipula Unanue was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Tiago Herro was shown his second yellow card after 56 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 56th match minute, Tapa Red F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiago Herro to maneuver through the defense. Guillelmus Tendiero took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Esquipula Unanue. Tapa Red F.C's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ponce Pereros short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Esquipula Unanue to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jerrold Suazo charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerrold Suazo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Guillelmus Tendiero kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Xabel Oquerruri during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Tapa Red F.C booed when Leones FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xabel Oquerruri didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute, Ponce Perero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Esquipula Unanue took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicollao Ovies, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Ponce Perero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Esquipula Unanue was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Ponce Perero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Esquipula Unanue tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tapa Red F.C's Esquipula Unanue played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ponce Perero in the 82nd minute of play. Jerrold Suazo kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ponce Perero in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Esquipula Unanue saved Tapa Red F.C from getting behind. 88 minutes into the match, Ponce Perero notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Tapa Red F.C's Esquipula Unanue. Esquipula Unanue was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
