Rene Higuita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rocio Camerin in the 20th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in VERDOLAGA CITY FC's zone, Claudinei Ruich stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henrique Bazan came out of the goal and Claudinei Ruich tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Criciúma Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Lucian Torre hit a great ball. Blai Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rene Higuita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loreto Astonzas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benat Trasloseros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Rene Higuita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rene Higuita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rocio Camerin in the 47th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rocio Camerin to make the kick off.
