Urtzi Megia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saturnino Arraya having to interfere. Saturnino Arraya stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ongile Arainz's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Sabaneta FC's zone, Urtzi Megia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Saturnino Arraya came out of the goal and Urtzi Megia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 16th minute, Zacarias Sana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sabaneta FC's Saturnino Arraya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oier Laincera in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Lesardo Gaztañondo notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Atlético Municipal's Basilio Munet. Basilio Munet was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Basilio Munet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lesardo Gaztañondo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 30 minutes, Ongile Arainz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético Municipal and the Sabaneta FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Sabaneta FC booed when Atlético Municipal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ongile Arainz didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ongile Arainz in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Saturnino Arraya saved Sabaneta FC from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Urtzi Megia put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Saturnino Arraya. In the 46th minute, Faustino Villate hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ongile Arainz to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ongile Arainz in the 53rd minute of play forced Sabaneta FC's goalkeeper Saturnino Arraya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Urtzi Megias short, quick shot in the 54thth minute got Saturnino Arraya to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sabaneta FC's Saturnino Arraya proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Sabaneta FC from getting a goal against them. After 58 minutes Sabaneta FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Oier Laincera who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Atlético Municipal's Oier Laincera to fire away a dangerous shot which Saturnino Arraya despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Saturnino Arraya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ongile Arainz in the 59th minute of play. Saturnino Arraya stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Urtzi Megia's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. After taking down the ball on Atlético Municipal's corner Rosalio Padolles fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Saturnino Arraya quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ongile Arainz in the 64th minute of play forced Sabaneta FC's goalkeeper Saturnino Arraya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Indalecio Larramendi kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Atlético Municipal's supporters rose to their feet, but Ongile Arainz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Saturnino Arraya breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 81st minute, Ongile Arainz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlético Municipal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. If Faustino Villate had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Oier Laincera's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Saturnino Arraya was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. 90 minutes into the match, Sabaneta FC's Jonatan Mocellar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Basilio Munet narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
