Colon Mestre hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, Ponc Horcasitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 20 minutes of play, Borussia Dortmund's Duardo Bolantin made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Everardo Alsua was left in no man's land by his defense there! Everardo Alsua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duardo Bolantin in the 23rd minute of the match. Everardo Alsua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdo Manurga, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After 28 played minutes Sporting Cristal got a freekick which was hit by Nicolao Basurto. Filipe Zaballos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Everardo Alsua was out of position in the 35 minute of play, and Estebano Reganado capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Duardo Bolantin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Duardo Bolantin made a precise shot to the right of Everardo Alsua. Sporting Cristal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Melchazadec Rodriguez lost his temper 56 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Sporting Cristal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melchazadec Rodriguez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Artizar Vede managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borussia Dortmund's supporters rose to their feet, but Artizar Vede was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Everardo Alsua breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Duardo Bolantin took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Everardo Alsua. Everardo Alsua dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Sotil Cerdeño charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sotil Cerdeño the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sotil Cerdeño kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. After 71 played minutes Sporting Cristal got a freekick which was hit by Kaxen Zulaica. Sporting Cristal's Everardo Alsua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdo Manurga in the 76th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Duardo Bolantin in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Everardo Alsua prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Duardo Bolantin's late challenge caught a Sporting Cristal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Duardo Bolantin helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Sporting Cristal booed when Borussia Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duardo Bolantin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Estebano Reganado took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Everardo Alsua. Everardo Alsua dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. Valdo Manurga might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Everardo Alsua. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valdo Manurga ran back to his position shaking his head. Borussia Dortmund's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
