When Sol Abaunza fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River CBBA's protests and gave Sol Abaunza a yellow card for diving instead. Sol Abaunza kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Artizar Vede took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lore Abajas. River CBBA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Sol Abaunza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Nevada Maderos made a huge save. 17 minutes into the game, Borussia Dortmund's Estebano Reganado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lore Abajas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Lore Abajas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdo Manurga, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdo Manurga in the 25th minute of play forced River CBBA's goalkeeper Lore Abajas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's Sotil Cerdeño got a free kick in the 26th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Guillermo Abaurre came free, but Nevada Maderos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnaldo Abel hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as River CBBA's Teobaldo Abello slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nevada Maderos. That made the score 3-1 after 45 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Guillermo Abaurre stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of River CBBA booed when Borussia Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flor Orbaneja didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute Teobaldo Abello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nevada Maderos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Estebano Reganado hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 57 minutes into the match, Esdras Abeitia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nevada Maderos. Borussia Dortmund's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Esdras Abeitia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. If Estebano Reganado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 63 minutes into the game, Guillermo Abaurre cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Nevada Maderos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 66th minute, Estebano Reganado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Estebano Reganado was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 70th minute. Borussia Dortmund's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a defensive mix-up in River CBBA's zone, Estebano Reganado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lore Abajas came out of the goal and Estebano Reganado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 75 minutes into the match, River CBBA's goalkeeper Lore Abajas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Duardo Bolantin. Lore Abajas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duardo Bolantin in the 82nd minute of play. Borussia Dortmund's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Artizar Vede in the 84th minute. After taking down the ball on Borussia Dortmund's corner Artizar Vede fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lore Abajas quite easily take care of the ball. In the 88th minute there was a penalty for Borussia Dortmund. Artizar Vede stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lore Abajas. 5-3. 93 minutes into the game, Esdras Abeitia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-3. Nevada Maderos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. For all the effort they put into the match, the Borussia Dortmund players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for River CBBA.
