In the 4th minute Cris Brunet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillen Mijangos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 4 minutes, Garcia Dalaje mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Universitario and the Atlético Grau Piura players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 4th minute, Garcia Dalaje hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dominic Morquera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vidal Cantabrana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dominic Morquera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vidal Cantabrana in the 13th minute of the match. Karlo Gavilanes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cesario Pedulles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guillen Mijangos having to interfere. Narciso Mattei kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 21stth minute of the game Vidal Cantabrana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Grau Piura's Dominic Morquera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 25th match minute, Universitario was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Restu Pineda to maneuver through the defense. In the 26thth minute of the game Rayman Moixi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Universitario's Guillen Mijangos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Universitario getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Restu Pineda hit a great ball. Xorxe Ibero took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 28th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Guillen Mijangos. Universitario's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Garcia Dalaje hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute of the match Xorxe Ibero sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Guillen Mijangos skillfully saved the ball. In the 36th minute, Cris Brunet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guillen Mijangos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rayman Moixi to make the kick off. Guillen Mijangos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cris Brunet went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Cris Brunet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guillen Mijangos was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Guillen Mijangos came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético Grau Piura's Cris Brunet. But to his dismay, Cris Brunet quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After a rather tough play, Universitario's Vidal Cantabrana got a free kick in the 66th minute. After 69 played minutes Atlético Grau Piura got a freekick which was hit by Saverio Poz. In the 75th match minute, Atlético Grau Piura was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cris Brunet to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erasto Tella during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 76th minute, Erasto Tella hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Argi Rionda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Dominic Morquera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cesario Pedulles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, Universitario's goal looked a bit too open when Cris Brunet came free, but Guillen Mijangos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Atlético Grau Piura's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
