After a rather tough play, CD Municipal's Cerilo Lubiano got a free kick in the 4th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Jose-Antonio Nuncibay dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Burutzagi Romero, 1-0. Lugo Zaton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the match, Jose-Antonio Nuncibay notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of CD Municipal's Burutzagi Romero. Burutzagi Romero was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 21 minutes into the game, Santana Bidania was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Olimpia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CD Municipal the free kick. The supporters of CD Municipal booed when Club Olimpia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santana Bidania didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the CD Municipal defense, Cordarrol Tama kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Burutzagi Romero. The CD Municipal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Burutzagi Romero should have stopped the shot. A collision led to CD Municipal getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Kemen Zalon hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the match, Telmo Castejon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Toli Buron. Club Olimpia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Telmo Castejon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. In the 40th match minute, CD Municipal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kemen Zalon to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute, Cordarrol Tama reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Burutzagi Romero. The goal made the score 5-1. In the 46th minute Bartoleme Valderrama shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Burutzagi Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Club Olimpia's Burutzagi Romero threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cordarrol Tama, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Telmo Castejon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Lugo Zaton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Burutzagi Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th match minute, CD Municipal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blai Bedia to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute, Eutor Dosal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Olimpia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isias Corono in the 66th minute of play forced Club Olimpia's goalkeeper Toli Buron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cornelio Rigueiro hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Club Olimpia's Lugo Zaton got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 75th minute, Lugo Zaton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cordarrol Tama scored 7-1 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Burutzagi Romero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jose-Antonio Nuncibay in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Burutzagi Romero saved CD Municipal from getting behind. Burutzagi Romero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cordarrol Tama in the 89th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the game, Club Olimpia's Cordarrol Tama nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Burutzagi Romero made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-1.
