After taking down the ball on Atlético Grau Piura's corner Xorxe Ibero fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Eduardo Lezarreta quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baladi Vellana in the 25th minute of play forced Atlético Grau Piura's goalkeeper Dominic Morquera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 26 minutes, Rigoberto Redeño mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Popolizio FBC and the Atlético Grau Piura players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 27th match minute, Deportivo Popolizio FBC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Redeño to maneuver through the defense. Dominic Morquera came out of the goal and Rigoberto Redeño tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eduardo Lezarreta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cesario Pedulles in the 39th minute of the match. Rigoberto Redeño hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Narciso Mattei charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Quintan Ontavilla made a kick off. Dominic Morquera made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Rigoberto Redeño sent off a good shot on target. Eduardo Lezarreta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cris Brunet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Salomone Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Dominic Morquera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Quintan Ontavilla put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Dominic Morquera. After 62 played minutes Atlético Grau Piura got a freekick which was hit by Cris Brunet. Rigoberto Redeño might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dominic Morquera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The crowd rose to their feet as Quintan Ontavilla kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dominic Morquera. That made the score 0-5 in the 70 minute of play. During the 82nd minute of the match Narciso Mattei completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Narciso Mattei a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-7 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Deportivo Popolizio FBC played a much better game than Atlético Grau Piura and deserved their victory. The Atlético Grau Piura players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
