Fortun Abadia made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Gilberto Guadamuz sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Leyendas's Giraldo Abancens got a free kick in the 8th minute. After 12 minutes of play, PUNTARENAS F.C's Olger Porras made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fortun Abadia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Efrain Arnaez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Abechuco, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 18th minute Joel Abechuco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efrain Arnaez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 19 minutes of play, PUNTARENAS F.C's Gilberto Guadamuz made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fortun Abadia was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Olger Porras sped through Leyendas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fortun Abadia. 27 minutes into the match, Leyendas's goalkeeper Fortun Abadia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilberto Guadamuz. Gilberto Guadamuz in the 28thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Fortun Abadia, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. PUNTARENAS F.C's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by David Carazo in the 30th minute. In the 36th minute, Olger Porras got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 37 minutes into the game, Xever Abadie was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leyendas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PUNTARENAS F.C the free kick. In the 37th match minute, Leyendas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xever Abadie to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the match, Olger Porras had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fortun Abadia. Leyendas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olger Porras was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Efrain Arnaez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blasi Abechuco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the PUNTARENAS F.C defense, Raebert Abello kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Efrain Arnaez. The PUNTARENAS F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Efrain Arnaez should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-1.
The audience thought a goal was coming when Xever Abadie got free with Efrain Arnaez in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Eduardo Caballero fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PUNTARENAS F.C's protests and gave Eduardo Caballero a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, PUNTARENAS F.C's Eduardo Caballero got a free kick in the 56th minute. Olger Porras took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fortun Abadia. Efrain Arnaez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Abechuco in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Olger Porras notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of Leyendas's Fortun Abadia. Fortun Abadia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. PUNTARENAS F.C's Olger Porras got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. PUNTARENAS F.C's Efrain Arnaez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save PUNTARENAS F.C from getting a goal against them. Efrain Arnaez didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 91st minute, which inside left pole to 7-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Gilberto Guadamuz managed to get in a good position for a shot. PUNTARENAS F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Guadamuz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fortun Abadia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Olger Porras scored 8-2 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fortun Abadia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Gilberto Guadamuz came up free with the goalie in the 100th minute, the PUNTARENAS F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Guadamuz couldn't finish the play. There was no doubt that PUNTARENAS F.C were the better team. PUNTARENAS F.C's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
