The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jonny Villafranca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute, Jonny Villafranca reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Shawn Cruz. The goal made the score 2-0. Berny Saborio kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Real Madrid de Guatemala's Manuel Flores got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Jonny Villafranca managed to get in a good position for a shot. CS La Libertad's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonny Villafranca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shawn Cruz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Manfred Ugalde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shawn Cruz having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Jonny Villafranca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Shawn Cruz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Shawn Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manfred Ugalde in the 62nd minute of the match. Shawn Cruz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfred Ugalde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonny Villafranca in the 70th minute of play forced Real Madrid de Guatemala's goalkeeper Shawn Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The CS La Libertad fans' excitement grew in the 75th match minute when CS La Libertad's Reiner Luna looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rafael Leiton kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Manuel Flores's late challenge caught a CS La Libertad's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Flores helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th minute, Manuel Flores hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonny Villafranca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the CS La Libertad players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
