After 10 played minutes Club Atlético Lea Papá got a freekick which was hit by Lino Rangel. Luis Ortiz made in the 12th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Henry Balboa immediately put the ball in play. Johnny Reyes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julio Villacorta, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Alberto Jimenez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Johnny Reyes made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Jimenez got free with Johnny Reyes in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Lea Papá's Luis Ortiz got a free kick in the 18th minute. 19 minutes into the game, Ivan Ramos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Johnny Reyes. Ivan Ramos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Club Atlético Lea Papá's Johnny Reyes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Lea Papá from getting a goal against them. Club Atlético Lea Papá's Johnny Reyes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Ramos in the 30th minute of play. Johnny Reyes didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 36th minute, which inside left pole to 3-0. Henry Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Real Madrid de Guatemala's zone, Lino Rangel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shawn Cruz came out of the goal and Lino Rangel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 41 played minutes Real Madrid de Guatemala got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Jimenez. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ivan Ramos to strike the kick off in the second half. Ivan Ramos might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Johnny Reyes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ivan Ramos ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 57th match minute, Club Atlético Lea Papá was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino Rangel to maneuver through the defense. Real Madrid de Guatemala made a substitution. Enrique Padilla replaced Primitivo Ruiz. After 58 played minutes Club Atlético Lea Papá got a freekick which was hit by Lino Rangel. Rolando Ortiz took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Johnny Reyes. Johnny Reyes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Rolando Ortiz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Madrid de Guatemala's supporters rose to their feet, but Rolando Ortiz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johnny Reyes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 72nd minute Cirino Smith shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shawn Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emiliano Sosa struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Johnny Reyes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Madrid de Guatemala. In the 89th minute Rolando Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnny Reyes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
