The supporters of ATLETAS FC booed when Girona FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damario Vicente didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 12 minutes, Oriol De Toro made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Girona FC's Toni Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Pau Cienfuegos hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute, Orlando Arraz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabricio Palomar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oriol De Toro in the 25th minute of play forced Girona FC's goalkeeper Toni Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gizon Herrera charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gizon Herrera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to ATLETAS FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Gizon Herrera hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute Dabi Rua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toni Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabricio Palomar's late challenge caught a ATLETAS FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabricio Palomar helped the player get up and apologised. After 42 played minutes Girona FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabricio Palomar. A collision led to Girona FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Belisario Llorente hit a great ball. The Girona FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. ATLETAS FC were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Belisario Llorente to strike the kick off in the second half. Oriol De Toro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 64th minute, Gizon Herrera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anselmo Cabrera struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Iago Palomares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Girona FC. The throw-in from Alanzo Vera in the 68th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by ATLETAS FC's Orlando Arraz. In the 75th match minute, ATLETAS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oriol De Toro to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the match, ATLETAS FC's Oriol De Toro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Toni Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Girona FC's Toni Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chus Bargas in the 79th minute of play. ATLETAS FC's Iago Palomares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Belisario Llorente in the 85th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chus Bargas in the 86th minute of play forced Girona FC's goalkeeper Toni Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Chus Bargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oriol De Toro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Toni Vera made a huge save. After a rather tough play, ATLETAS FC's Orlando Arraz got a free kick in the 93rd minute. When the final whistle sounded ATLETAS FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Girona FC.
