The referee showed Enzo Camara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Plauto Dobale took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Xabel Beloki. Xabel Beloki dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. If Eriberto Tarin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, A.D. Alcorcón's Raymon Paris got a free kick in the 23rd minute. If Burni Zapico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Xabel Beloki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natal Laredo in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Mané Aguado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juanito Erosa. A.D. Alcorcón's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mané Aguado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Llorian Cardeñosa's late challenge caught a A.D. Alcorcón's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Llorian Cardeñosa helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Llorian Cardeñosa hit a great ball. Natal Laredo struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Xabel Beloki didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.D. Alcorcón. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mané Aguado in the 33rd minute of play forced A.D. Alcorcón's goalkeeper Juanito Erosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Plauto Dobale spun around in front of the goal 35 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's goal. Xabel Beloki had great luck who in the 37thth minute grab hold of the ball when Natal Laredo from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 40th minute of the match, Aloisio Morientes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Xabel Beloki saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Diaz in the 45th minute of play forced A.D. Alcorcón's goalkeeper Juanito Erosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After 91 minutes, Vigil Ruiz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO and the A.D. Alcorcón players grew even worse after the yellow card. A.D. Alcorcón's Gitano Izquierdo was substituted for Plauto Dobale. Gitano Izquierdo hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. A.D. Alcorcón's Juanito Erosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save A.D. Alcorcón from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
