Mosk's Bertus van Dongen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Mosk from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Mosk booed when FC Bal op het Dak was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edwin Batum didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bertus van Dongen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dirk Tollenaar in the 35th minute of play. Ernest Hoogendorp hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Sven Keupink, 43 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 45th minute, Edwin Batum got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Mosk's Gerwin Schrage was substituted for Ernest Hoogendorp. Mosk's Klaas de Hoop was substituted for Pascal Robbermond. The wind increased when Sipke Hardering made the kick off in the second half. Taco Neeskens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bertus van Dongen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sjaak Saarloos, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 84th minute Sjaak Saarloos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bertus van Dongen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Gerard Mulder sped through Mosk's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bertus van Dongen. 96 minutes into the match, FC Bal op het Dak's Sjaak Saarloos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bertus van Dongen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Bal op het Dak fully deserved thier win.
