Elroy Eising was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Elroy Eising played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bart Fikkers in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th match minute, S.C. Potentia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jens Dilling to maneuver through the defense. S.C. Potentia's Vincent Veenema proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save S.C. Potentia from getting a goal against them. 18 minutes into the match, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's goal looked a bit too open when Jacco Bakker came free, but Elroy Eising reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of S.C. Potentia booed when Julias Rascals Apeldoorn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joris Batum didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elroy Eising showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bart Fikkers in the 23rd minute of the match. Vincent Veenema showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rik Meijs in the 27th minute of the match. When Bart Fikkers came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the S.C. Potentia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bart Fikkers couldn't finish the play. In the 37th play minute Florian Bogaard came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Vincent Veenema. 1-1. When Kurt Kort came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the S.C. Potentia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kurt Kort couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, S.C. Potentia's Vincent Veenema got control of the ball when Florian Bogaard tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kurt Kort stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Elroy Eising showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacco Bakker in the 51st minute of the match. In the 52nd match minute, S.C. Potentia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerald Vanenburg to maneuver through the defense. Vincent Veenema took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joris Batum, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rik Meijs struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Vincent Veenema didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Julias Rascals Apeldoorn. Kees Mussies kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After 62 minutes Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gerald Vanenburg who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to S.C. Potentia's Harry Tamminga getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 76th match minute, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wim Blom to maneuver through the defense. If Ted Sleiffer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to S.C. Potentia getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Ate Rogaars hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacco Bakker in the 89th minute of play forced Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's goalkeeper Elroy Eising to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The S.C. Potentia players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Julias Rascals Apeldoorn from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
