Dick van der Stoel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sjors Schulte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fargo SC's Dick van der Stoel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerrit Baker in the 12th minute of play. Marco Oosterman took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Henny Jans. Henny Jans dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The referee felt a red card was in order, 16 minutes into the game, when Dirk Lensen put in a rough tackle. After 15 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Fargo SC! Dick van der Stoel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pascall Mik in the 21st minute. Dick van der Stoel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerrit Baker in the 28th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Fargo SC's goal looked a bit too open when Gerrit Baker came free, but Dick van der Stoel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Fargo SC's Marco Oosterman got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Jurjen Tanis hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Marco Oosterman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Henny Jans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fargo SC's Hugo Rueda got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

If Alex Dol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Fargo SC booed when Verwachting was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerrit Baker didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute, Dimitrie Bruintjes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Verwachting fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Pascall Mik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Pascall Mik sped through Fargo SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dick van der Stoel. Henny Jans made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Hugo Rueda sent off a good shot on target. Henny Jans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Oosterman in the 81st minute of play. Dimitrie Rolink kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 90th minute Pascall Mik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dick van der Stoel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Fargo SC's Peter Smid got a free kick in the 91st minute. With a little luck, Verwachting's Henny Jans got control of the ball when Hugo Rueda tried to sneak it across the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Fargo SC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Verwachting.
