But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bart Koekkoek couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Nadzieja Speed Elblag booed when Zijdewind SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernest van der Laan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 22 minutes Nadzieja Speed Elblag's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ferdi Dekens who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rudi den Hartog in the 24th minute of play forced Nadzieja Speed Elblag's goalkeeper Teun Gierman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rudi den Hartog kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Henk Zaagman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute of the match Bart Koekkoek sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Henry Lembeck skillfully saved the ball. Teun Gierman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernest van der Laan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rudi den Hartog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teun Gierman having to interfere. After 33 minutes, Ernest van der Laan made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Nadzieja Speed Elblag's Teun Gierman tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernest van der Laan in the 42nd minute of play forced Nadzieja Speed Elblag's goalkeeper Teun Gierman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nadzieja Speed Elblag's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Wilco Theuws scored to the left of an out of position Teun Gierman, making the score, 4-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 55th minute, Bart Koekkoek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Nadzieja Speed Elblag defense, Ernest van der Laan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Teun Gierman. The Nadzieja Speed Elblag fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Teun Gierman should have stopped the shot. Zijdewind SC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ferdi Dekens in the 70th minute. 71 minutes into the game, Lex van Gaal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nadzieja Speed Elblag's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zijdewind SC the free kick. In the 71st match minute, Nadzieja Speed Elblag was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lex van Gaal to maneuver through the defense. Ernest van der Laan kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Ernest van der Laan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Teun Gierman was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. If Ernest van der Laan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernest van der Laan in the 86th minute of play forced Nadzieja Speed Elblag's goalkeeper Teun Gierman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teun Gierman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernest van der Laan, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Johan Heuving's late challenge caught a Zijdewind SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Johan Heuving helped the player get up and apologised. After 90 played minutes Nadzieja Speed Elblag got a freekick which was hit by Johan Heuving. Ernest van der Laan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teun Gierman having to interfere. Zijdewind SC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
