At last the ball reached Reinhard Braamhaar at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Verwachting. 2-0. The audience was convinced that Sjoerd Bosschaart's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Henny Jans was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Gabriele Batistuta struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Henny Jans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lemel SV. Verwachting's Henny Jans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pieter den Hartog in the 26th minute of play. Henny Jans came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Lemel SV's Pieter den Hartog. But to his dismay, Pieter den Hartog quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Henny Jans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pieter den Hartog in the 37th minute. Jurjen Tanis's late challenge caught a Lemel SV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jurjen Tanis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 39th minute, Jurjen Tanis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Barry Geurtsen hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sjors Schulte to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th match minute, Lemel SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barry Geurtsen to maneuver through the defense. Olivier Kahn was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Klaas Jeuring. 63 minutes into the match, Lemel SV's goal looked a bit too open when Gerrit Baker came free, but Olivier Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute, Sjors Schulte fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerrit Baker in the 66th minute of play forced Lemel SV's goalkeeper Olivier Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Lemel SV booed when Verwachting was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Klaas Jeuring didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute, Leon Reiling got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gerrit Baker kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pascall Mik got free with Olivier Kahn in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Pieter den Hartog's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Henny Jans was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. Verwachting's Henny Jans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pieter den Hartog in the 91st minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Lemel SV fully deserved thier win.
