When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Henk-Jan Slot sped through Fargo SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dick van der Stoel. Zijdewind SC's Mario Klompe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Rueda in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Zijdewind SC's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Rueda came free, but Mario Klompe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Henk-Jan Slot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dick van der Stoel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdi Dekens in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th match minute, Zijdewind SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilco Theuws to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, Zijdewind SC's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Schattenberg came free, but Mario Klompe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Foeke Wilminck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fargo SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Foeke Wilminck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mario Klompe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zijdewind SC's Mario Klompe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Oosterman in the 45th minute of play. Mario Klompe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Foeke Wilminck went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Henk-Jan Slot was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute Foeke Wilminck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mario Klompe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mario Klompe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Foeke Wilminck in the 57th minute of the match. Zijdewind SC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 63rd minute, when Marco Oosterman scored to the left of an out of position Mario Klompe, making the score, 2-2. 66 minutes into the match, Zijdewind SC's goal looked a bit too open when Foeke Wilminck came free, but Mario Klompe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henry Lembeck hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Dick van der Stoel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdi Dekens in the 72nd minute of play. After having played for 73 minutes, Foeke Wilminck managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fargo SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Foeke Wilminck was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zijdewind SC's Mario Klompe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Zijdewind SC from getting a goal against them. After 82 played minutes Zijdewind SC got a freekick which was hit by Franck Tinge. Marco Schattenberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mario Klompe having to make a save. 88 minutes into the match, Zijdewind SC's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Oosterman came free, but Mario Klompe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilco Theuws charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilco Theuws the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Ferdi Dekens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute, Dimitrie Rolink hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Schattenberg in the 97th minute of play forced Zijdewind SC's goalkeeper Mario Klompe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fargo SC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
