Teun Gierman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arnout Piening kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Henk-Jan Slot ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Teun Gierman was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Pim van Gaals short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Mario Klompe to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Henk-Jan Slot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Zijdewind SC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Gert Kroeze hit a great ball. Matthijs Heinen came free with the goalkeeper in the 27th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mario Klompe could save by the left post. Matthijs Heinen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teun Gierman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henk-Jan Slot's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Henk-Jan Slot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teun Gierman having to interfere. Wilfred Brunt charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilfred Brunt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 36th match minute, Nadzieja Speed Elblag was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilfred Brunt to maneuver through the defense. Henk-Jan Slot's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Teun Gierman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

After having played for 56 minutes, Henk-Jan Slot managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zijdewind SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henk-Jan Slot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Henry Lembeck could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Teun Gierman made a huge save. With an all-out effort, Zijdewind SC's Teun Gierman threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Henk-Jan Slot, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Teun Gierman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henk-Jan Slot in the 67th minute of the match. In the 69th minute Henk-Jan Slot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teun Gierman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Nadzieja Speed Elblag's goal looked a bit too open when Henk-Jan Slot came free, but Teun Gierman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teun Gierman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henk-Jan Slot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 92 minutes in the game, Henk-Jan Slot fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Teun Gierman having to interfere. Ferdi Dekens who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of Teun Gierman when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
