The supporters of Revenge booed when Ágætis Byrjun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Ax didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan Rein Klap received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Ab Veenema tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ab Veenema took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Baker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gijsbert Luikens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brain Diest in the 14th minute of play. Gijsbert Luikens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robin Willemsen in the 21st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robin Willemsen in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gijsbert Luikens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 22 minutes into the match, Revenge's goal looked a bit too open when Robin Willemsen came free, but Gijsbert Luikens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Revenge's Gijsbert Luikens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Buys in the 26th minute of play. The supporters of Ágætis Byrjun booed when Revenge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jens Veltman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dries Hofkamp hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute, Edgar Buys ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gijsbert Luikens was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Gijsbert Luikens came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Ágætis Byrjun's Edgar Buys. But to his dismay, Edgar Buys quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Jens Veltman fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Revenge's protests and gave Jens Veltman a yellow card for diving instead. After 48 minutes of play, Ágætis Byrjun's Brain Diest made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gijsbert Luikens was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edgar Buys to strike the kick off in the second half. Gijsbert Luikens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brain Diest, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Robin Willemsen kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Gijsbert Luikens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brain Diest in the 63rd minute of the match. Brain Diest received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gijsbert Luikens came out and tried to block the shot, but Brain Diest slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 66th minute. In the 70th match minute, Revenge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jens Veltman to maneuver through the defense. Brain Diest sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Rein Klap in the 74th minute of play forced Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Ab Veenema to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute of the match, Edgar Buys got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gijsbert Luikens was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brain Diest in the 81st minute of play forced Revenge's goalkeeper Gijsbert Luikens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Ab Bekker's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ab Veenema was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. After some careless play in the Revenge defense, Edgar Buys kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gijsbert Luikens. The Revenge fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gijsbert Luikens should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Robin Willemsen took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Gijsbert Luikens to make any attempt to save it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robin Willemsen in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gijsbert Luikens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edgard Ax received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Gijsbert Luikens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gijsbert Luikens made a fantastic save in the 99th minute, when Edgar Buys sent off a good shot on target. The Revenge fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ágætis Byrjun were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
