In the 2nd minute, Ferdi van der Schaaf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Marco Sleiffer managed to get in a good position for a shot. AVV Zeeburgia's supporters rose to their feet, but Marco Sleiffer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hendrik Adriaanse breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hendrik Adriaanse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jelmer Deitmers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hendrik Adriaanse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jelmer Deitmers, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Franck Oosterhof made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdi van der Schaaf in the 12th minute of play. In the 16th minute, AVV Zeeburgia's Roel Saarberg seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Roel Saarberg the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of AVV Zeeburgia protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Roel Saarberg had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 15th minute of the game. One of AVV Zeeburgia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of De Pelgrims:s goal. 21 minutes into the match, De Pelgrims's goal looked a bit too open when Jelmer Deitmers came free, but Hendrik Adriaanse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. De Pelgrims were furious when Anton Jacobs was red carded, 23 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 22 minutes into the game, one of De Pelgrims:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jelmer Deitmers in the 28th minute of play forced De Pelgrims's goalkeeper Hendrik Adriaanse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Herbert Baker notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of De Pelgrims's Hendrik Adriaanse. Hendrik Adriaanse was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jelmer Deitmers in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hendrik Adriaanse saved De Pelgrims from getting behind. In the 38th minute Herbert Baker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hendrik Adriaanse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. De Pelgrims's Hendrik Adriaanse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herbert Baker in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute Marco Sleiffer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hendrik Adriaanse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jelmer Deitmers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Hendrik Adriaanse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jelmer Deitmers to make the kick off. With a little luck, De Pelgrims's Hendrik Adriaanse got control of the ball when Tonny Brunt tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Marco Sleiffer took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Hendrik Adriaanse to make any attempt to save it. If Jelmer Deitmers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, De Pelgrims's Hendrik Adriaanse got control of the ball when Roland Deinse tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herbert Baker in the 69th minute of play forced De Pelgrims's goalkeeper Hendrik Adriaanse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hendrik Adriaanse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jelmer Deitmers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, De Pelgrims's Hendrik Adriaanse got control of the ball when Marco Sleiffer tried to sneak it across the goal line. 80 minutes into the game, Tonny Brunt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Hendrik Adriaanse was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 84 minutes of play, AVV Zeeburgia's Marco Sleiffer made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hendrik Adriaanse was left in no man's land by his defense there! De Pelgrims's defense didn't have a chance, in the 88th minute, when Jelmer Deitmers scored to the left of an out of position Hendrik Adriaanse, making the score, 1-6. 92 minutes into the match, Ferdi van der Schaaf notched a goal, 2-6, to the right of AVV Zeeburgia's Franck Oosterhof. Franck Oosterhof was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jelmer Deitmers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Hendrik Adriaanse made a huge save. When the final whistle sounded AVV Zeeburgia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than De Pelgrims.
