The Calopsita EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Sílvio Luiz Damião showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedê de Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Sandrinho Fernandez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Sidnei Teixeira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sílvio Luiz Damião was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Sidnei Teixeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Sílvio Luiz Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elder Lago took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Lopez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, Fernando Vinhas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ- booed when Calopsita EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fiori Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Calopsita EC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Edgard Lopez hit a great ball. After 39 played minutes Calopsita EC got a freekick which was hit by Sandrinho Fernandez. 46 minutes into the match, Calopsita EC's goalkeeper Sílvio Luiz Damião had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sidnei Teixeira. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sidnei Teixeira to make the kick off. Nuno Carioca kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgard Lopez during the 54th minute. In the 61st minute, Sandrinho Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Dedê de Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dedê de Moraes couldn't finish the play. 67 minutes into the match, Aníbal Martins had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elder Lago. Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aníbal Martins was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 70th match minute, Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Washington Meira to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Fiori Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calopsita EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fiori Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elder Lago breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 77 minutes into the game, Fernando Vinhas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ-'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Calopsita EC the free kick. In the 87th play minute Sandrinho Fernandez came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Elder Lago. 1-3. In the 93rd minute of the match Geovanni Botelho shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sílvio Luiz Damião showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ-'s Gualter Queirós sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sílvio Luiz Damião narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Calopsita EC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
