The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Téo Tróia during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Calopsita EC booed when Agua Santa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Téo Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Agua Santa's Tomé Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kléber Vargas in the 4th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinei Cearense in the 8th minute of play forced Calopsita EC's goalkeeper Sílvio Luiz Damião to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 11 played minutes Agua Santa got a freekick which was hit by Cléberson do Valle. A collision led to Agua Santa getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Jânio Arantes hit a great ball. Tomé Mota didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 14th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Cipriano Pinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 31 minutes into the match, Cipriano Pinho notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Calopsita EC's Sílvio Luiz Damião. Sílvio Luiz Damião was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Calopsita EC's zone, Cipriano Pinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sílvio Luiz Damião came out of the goal and Cipriano Pinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the game, Cipriano Pinho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Sílvio Luiz Damião was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Inácio Trancoso during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 47 played minutes Calopsita EC got a freekick which was hit by Inácio Trancoso.

The audience was convinced that Cipriano Pinho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sílvio Luiz Damião was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. After having played for 54 minutes, Fábio Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Agua Santa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fábio Lopez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Téo Tróia was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. Agua Santa made a substitution. Emanuel Vianna replaced Cipriano Pinho. In the 68th minute, one of Agua Santa:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Agua Santa. Nico Quintal's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 74thth minute, Sílvio Luiz Damião skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Christiano Castro fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Calopsita EC's protests and gave Christiano Castro a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Calopsita EC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Christiano Castro hit a great ball. Laércio Neves received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sílvio Luiz Damião came out and tried to block the shot, but Laércio Neves slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 77th minute. If Laércio Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 85 minutes, Oswaldo Figueiredo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calopsita EC and the Agua Santa players grew even worse after the yellow card.
