Humberto Xavier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinei Tande in the 5th minute of play. After some careless play in the Brasilino defense, Artur Branco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Humberto Xavier. The Brasilino fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Humberto Xavier should have stopped the shot. Hílton da Silveira's late challenge caught a Lobo Guará's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hílton da Silveira helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Brasilino getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Hílton da Silveira hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Senna in the 19th minute of play forced Lobo Guará's goalkeeper Roberto Baiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Afonsinho Melo charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Afonsinho Melo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 20 played minutes Lobo Guará got a freekick which was hit by Afonsinho Melo. 21 minutes into the match, Lobo Guará's goalkeeper Roberto Baiano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Paulo Furlan. In the 22nd match minute, Brasilino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Leal to maneuver through the defense. Humberto Xavier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Branco in the 33rd minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Lobo Guará's Róbson da Silva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Humberto Xavier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Claudinei Tande might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Humberto Xavier. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudinei Tande ran back to his position shaking his head.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedro Paulo Furlan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Lobo Guará's Gustavo Gómez got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Hílton da Silveira struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Roberto Baiano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brasilino. 59 minutes into the match, Artur Branco notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Brasilino's Humberto Xavier. Humberto Xavier was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 65th minute, Artur Branco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Humberto Xavier was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. In the 68th minute Claudinei Tande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Xavier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Artur Branco's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Humberto Xavier firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 75th minute, Artur Branco reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Humberto Xavier. The goal made the score 0-5. Humberto Xavier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albertinho Leite in the 82nd minute of the match. With a little luck, Brasilino's Humberto Xavier got control of the ball when Roberto Domingues tried to sneak it across the goal line. 87 minutes into the game, Claudinei Tande recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Humberto Xavier. Claudinei Tande showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Lobo Guará walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
