Luiz Fabiano Barreto's late challenge caught a Floresta Negra FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Fabiano Barreto helped the player get up and apologised. In the 73rd minute, Orlando Cosme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Almir Carneiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando de Brito in the 75th minute of play. Alfredo Paes was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Gabriel Freire capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Floresta Negra FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
