After 3 played minutes Nitra FC got a freekick which was hit by Durval Tasso. In the 6th minute, Waldir Mandrak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Nitra FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rômulo Pirani was slow to take the kick. During this time Noroeste Paulista's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Vitório Rezende managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Célio de Amaral hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, Augusto Bueno notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Noroeste Paulista's Serafim Peres. Serafim Peres was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Nitra FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Pedro Augusto Barral hit a great ball. Gláuber Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Luiz Koehler having to interfere. Fabinho Fontes charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabinho Fontes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fabinho Fontes kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. André Luiz Koehler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rômulo Nunes in the 31st minute. Rômulo Pirani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rômulo Nunes in the 38thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of André Luiz Koehler, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Nitra FC's Rodrigo Arantes got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Dudu Palmeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Nitra FC's Waldir Mandrak tried to score from far away in the 42nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Noroeste Paulista's zone, Augusto Bueno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serafim Peres came out of the goal and Augusto Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Serafim Peres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Bueno in the 47th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Gláuber Veloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. André Luiz Koehler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Durval Tasso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Serafim Peres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Arantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcinho Leite in the 72nd minute of play forced Nitra FC's goalkeeper André Luiz Koehler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. André Luiz Koehler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gláuber Veloso in the 74th minute of play. André Luiz Koehler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rômulo Pirani in the 75th minute of play. If Pedro Augusto Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gláuber Veloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Noroeste Paulista's Alex Godoi was substituted for Gláuber Veloso. 89 minutes into the game, Noroeste Paulista's André Vidal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. André Luiz Koehler made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alex Godoi in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg André Luiz Koehler saved Nitra FC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Noroeste Paulista's André Vidal got a free kick in the 93rd minute. If Augusto Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Many of Nitra FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Nitra FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Noroeste Paulista were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
