Thomás Sarmento made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lino Andrade in the 7th minute. Reginaldo Pinho might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Eduardo Novaes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reginaldo Pinho ran back to his position shaking his head. Se7e's Luiz Eduardo Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reginaldo Pinho in the 9th minute of play. When Jorginho Fonseca fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Se7e's protests and gave Jorginho Fonseca a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th match minute, Se7e was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorginho Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Romário Souto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Thomás Sarmento. That made the score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Alfredinho Favoretto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Batalhão do Peçanha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Se7e the free kick. Alfredinho Favoretto hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the match, Se7e's goal looked a bit too open when Isaltino Mesquita came free, but Luiz Eduardo Novaes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Lino Andrade came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Se7e fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lino Andrade couldn't finish the play. In the 30th minute, Alfredinho Favoretto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bruno Miranda was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 31st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Se7e's Romário Souto in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Batalhão do Peçanha's goalie prevented a goal. After 39 played minutes Benedito das Neves rounded Batalhão do Peçanha's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Magalhães in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thomás Sarmento saved Batalhão do Peçanha from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

João Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Thomás Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Romário Souto in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thomás Sarmento saved Batalhão do Peçanha from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Isaltino Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Batalhão do Peçanha's supporters rose to their feet, but Isaltino Mesquita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Eduardo Novaes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 57 played minutes Se7e got a freekick which was hit by Arlindo Loureiro. Batalhão do Peçanha's Gernando Trigo got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Doriva Vale hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Thomás Sarmento stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romário Souto's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Lino Andrade scored 5-0 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thomás Sarmento, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Se7e's Lino Andrade got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Thomás Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorginho Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lino Andrade in the 93rd minute of play forced Batalhão do Peçanha's goalkeeper Thomás Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Se7e's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
