Isaltino Mesquita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Téo Koehler came out and tried to block the shot, but Isaltino Mesquita slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 10th minute. Téo Koehler made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Reginaldo Pinho sent off a good shot on target. Oranil's Téo Koehler proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Oranil from getting a goal against them. In the 25th match minute, Oranil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacinto de Salles to maneuver through the defense. After 27 played minutes Oranil got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Soeiro. A hard shot by Doriva Vale from long distance, 28 minutes into the match, got Téo Koehler's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Reginaldo Pinho came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Batalhão do Peçanha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reginaldo Pinho couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd minute, Reginaldo Pinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oranil's Téo Koehler proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Oranil from getting a goal against them. Téo Koehler was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Isaltino Mesquita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 39 minute of play. Armando Varela might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Téo Koehler. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Armando Varela ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Oranil's Téo Koehler got control of the ball when Reginaldo Pinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

After some careless play in the Oranil defense, Isaltino Mesquita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Téo Koehler. The Oranil fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Téo Koehler should have stopped the shot. After 59 minutes, César da Rocha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Batalhão do Peçanha and the Oranil players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th minute, one of Batalhão do Peçanha:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Batalhão do Peçanha. The goalkeeper, Thomás Sarmento, was totally fooled by Oranil's Percival Simão, who 60 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Gildo Azevedo hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Reginaldo Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the match, Oranil's goal looked a bit too open when Reginaldo Pinho came free, but Téo Koehler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isaltino Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Téo Koehler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute Reginaldo Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Téo Koehler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Gonçalo Soeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oranil's supporters rose to their feet, but Gonçalo Soeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomás Sarmento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 80 minutes, Aloísio Rossi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oranil and the Batalhão do Peçanha players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 80 played minutes Oranil got a freekick which was hit by Aloísio Rossi. Reginaldo Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Téo Koehler having to interfere. Thomás Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonçalo Soeiro in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 97th minute Reginaldo Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Téo Koehler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oranil's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
