The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Durvalino de Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Víktor Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8th minute José Vítor Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durvalino de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 9th minute, Inter Gala's José Vítor Nóbrega ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Durvalino de Mendonça. Durvalino de Mendonça yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 15th minute José Vítor Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durvalino de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 16 minutes, Giuseppe Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter Gala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giuseppe Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Inter Gala were furious when Tony Ferraz was red carded, 18 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After recieving a nice pass, The Power Guido FC's Dráusio Gonçalves tried to score from far away in the 19th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 21st minute Dráusio Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustão Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Adolfo Amorim's late challenge caught a Inter Gala's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Adolfo Amorim helped the player get up and apologised. The Power Guido FC's Durvalino de Mendonça proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save The Power Guido FC from getting a goal against them. Giuseppe Fonseca who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Durvalino de Mendonça when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 34th minute of the match Inter Gala got a corner. The Power Guido FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tales Alvarenga ran over to the corner to take the kick. When José Vítor Nóbrega came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Inter Gala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Vítor Nóbrega couldn't finish the play. If Basílio Ferraz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Inter Gala getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Vítor Sousa hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, Dráusio Gonçalves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Basílio Ferraz made a kick off. Basílio Ferraz hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dráusio Gonçalves in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Faustão Hermes saved Inter Gala from getting behind. Durvalino de Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giuseppe Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. 63 minutes into the match, Dráusio Gonçalves notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Inter Gala's Faustão Hermes. Faustão Hermes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to The Power Guido FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Filipe Tasso hit a great ball. Inter Gala's Faustão Hermes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Inter Gala from getting a goal against them. 75 minutes into the game, Víktor Passos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Inter Gala's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Power Guido FC the free kick. After 75 played minutes Inter Gala got a freekick which was hit by Víktor Passos. In the 77th match minute, The Power Guido FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Capixaba to maneuver through the defense. 79 minutes into the game, Zé Capixaba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Power Guido FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inter Gala the free kick. After 79 played minutes The Power Guido FC got a freekick which was hit by Zé Capixaba. Tales Alvarenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durvalino de Mendonça having to interfere. Faustão Hermes made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Dráusio Gonçalves sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of The Power Guido FC booed when Inter Gala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mané Perez didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Power Guido FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
