The supporters of Villaverde Celeste Clube booed when Sandinense ADF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ediberto Paraense didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th match minute, Sandinense ADF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toninho Vaz to maneuver through the defense. Villaverde Celeste Clube's Geovanni Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Maia in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Hudson Souza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tony de Sena. Sandinense ADF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hudson Souza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilton Berger got free with Tony de Sena in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Villaverde Celeste Clube fully deserved thier win.
