Alvinegro Carioca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Juventudes Libertárias the free kick. In the 28th match minute, Alvinegro Carioca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César Mello to maneuver through the defense. Caio Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luís Meirelles made a kick off. Samuel Pontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diamantino Reis, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Dedê Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodoro Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. With a left leg Dedê Trigo saved Juventudes Libertárias from getting behind. 84 minutes into the game, Caio Cabral cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Dedê Trigo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Juventudes Libertárias's Diamantino Reis got a free kick in the 88th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Luís Meirelles kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Samuel Pontes. That made the score 1-2 in the 97 minute of play. The Alvinegro Carioca fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Juventudes Libertárias were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
