After a rather tough play, Petardo Futebol e Surf's José Paulo Baptista got a free kick in the 3rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Meirelles during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Petardo Futebol e Surf booed when Juventudes Libertárias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Meirelles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Petardo Futebol e Surf's Armando Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Meirelles in the 10th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Sérgio da Silveira in the 16th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Petardo Futebol e Surf's Luan Mangueira. Francisco Rossi's late challenge caught a Juventudes Libertárias's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francisco Rossi helped the player get up and apologised. José Paulo Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After 23 played minutes, Juventudes Libertárias's Edmundo Silveira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Armando Antunes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Juventudes Libertárias reached it. After 26 played minutes Juventudes Libertárias got a freekick which was hit by Cido Oliveira. Dedê Trigo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David Esteves's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. If Cido Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th match minute, Petardo Futebol e Surf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidnei Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute, Luís Meirelles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for David Esteves to strike the kick off in the second half. Armando Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cido Oliveira in the 52nd minute of play. Armando Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cido Oliveira in the 59th minute of the match. Dedê Trigo made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Esteves in the 61st minute. Sidnei Guimarães's late challenge caught a Juventudes Libertárias's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juventudes Libertárias's Dedê Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Esteves in the 70th minute of play.
