The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. André Batista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Umberto Amaral read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. 4 minutes into the game, Celsinho Magalhães cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Umberto Amaral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. André Batista took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Umberto Amaral. Umberto Amaral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 13th minute Celsinho Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Umberto Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fábio Simão might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Umberto Amaral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fábio Simão ran back to his position shaking his head. When Válter Mattos came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the O MOTIVO ⚽ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Válter Mattos couldn't finish the play. The supporters of O MOTIVO ⚽ booed when Inacio F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Quirino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Umberto Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celsinho Magalhães in the 20th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, Gildo Guimarães was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Inacio F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave O MOTIVO ⚽ the free kick. The supporters of O MOTIVO ⚽ booed when Inacio F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gildo Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. Umberto Amaral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Válter Mattos's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Umberto Amaral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Celsinho Magalhães went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Dida Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. A collision led to Inacio F.C. getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Mateus Figueiredo hit a great ball. Inacio F.C.'s Umberto Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Válter Mattos in the 40th minute of play. Umberto Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovânio de Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sidnei Abraão kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. After the first half O MOTIVO ⚽ were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Telmo Recife hit a great ball. If Celsinho Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 96 minutes into the match, Inacio F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Válter Mattos came free, but Umberto Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When André Batista came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the O MOTIVO ⚽ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Batista couldn't finish the play.
