Otávio Sanches showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo Sarmento, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After 10 minutes of play, Taquaral Campineiro's Valdomiro Domingues made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivo Amaral was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ivo Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilson Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Ronaldo Vianna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otávio Sanches having to interfere. Taquaral Campineiro's Otávio Sanches proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Taquaral Campineiro from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Guilherme Cabral got free with Otávio Sanches in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 23 played minutes Taquaral Campineiro got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Martins. Taquaral Campineiro's Otávio Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Guilherme Cabral in the 24th minute of play. Gonçalo Sarmento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivo Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdomiro Domingues in the 30th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Gonçalo Sarmento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Cruzeiro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gonçalo Sarmento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Otávio Sanches breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Real Cruzeiro FC's Ivo Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilson Freire in the 43rd minute of play. Luís Guilherme Cabral might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Otávio Sanches. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Guilherme Cabral ran back to his position shaking his head. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Gonçalo Sarmento made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Taquaral Campineiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Martins to maneuver through the defense. When Luís Guilherme Cabral came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Real Cruzeiro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Guilherme Cabral couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Real Cruzeiro FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Belmiro Urbano hit a great ball. Giovanni Valle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Ivo Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Otávio Sanches came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Real Cruzeiro FC's Gonçalo Sarmento. But to his dismay, Gonçalo Sarmento quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Gonçalo Sarmento might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Otávio Sanches. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gonçalo Sarmento ran back to his position shaking his head. After 76 minutes of play, Real Cruzeiro FC's Ronaldo Vianna made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Otávio Sanches was left in no man's land by his defense there! Otávio Sanches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Guilherme Cabral in the 80th minute of play. After 83 minutes, Ronaldo Vianna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Cruzeiro FC and the Taquaral Campineiro players grew even worse after the yellow card. 86 minutes into the match, Taquaral Campineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Vianna came free, but Otávio Sanches reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Guilherme Cabral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Otávio Sanches having to make a save. Ivo Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustavo Sena in the 91st minute. Gonçalo Sarmento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Otávio Sanches tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Otávio Sanches didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luís Guilherme Cabral went, in the 98th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Real Cruzeiro FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
