The audience thought a goal was coming when Nestor de Sena got free with Bernardinho Freire in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 18th minute, Gualter Nóbrega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor de Sena in the 26th minute of play forced Academia Militar MZ's goalkeeper Bernardinho Freire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 30 minutes of play, Academia Militar MZ's Enéas Lima made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Armando Nascimento was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 33 played minutes Real Brasília FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Nestor de Sena. A collision led to Real Brasília FC - DMZ getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Allan Severo hit a great ball. A collision led to Academia Militar MZ getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Lúcio Fantini hit a great ball. Real Brasília FC - DMZ's Cléber Falcão shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 48th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Bernardinho Freire but with some difficulty. After the first half Academia Militar MZ were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nestor de Sena was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Nestor de Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardinho Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gualter Nóbrega hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute of the match Cléber Falcão shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bernardinho Freire showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 59th minute Nestor de Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardinho Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maicon de Almeida during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Academia Militar MZ getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Maicon de Almeida hit a great ball. If Betinho Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Betinho Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Brasília FC - DMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Betinho Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardinho Freire breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maicon de Almeida in the 68th minute of play forced Real Brasília FC - DMZ's goalkeeper Armando Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 73 played minutes Real Brasília FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Allan Severo. Luís Fábio Quirino charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Fábio Quirino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Academia Militar MZ fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 82nd minute. Penalty! Bernardinho Freire took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor de Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Militar MZ's goalkeeper Bernardinho Freire, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Betinho Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardinho Freire having to interfere. After 92 minutes, Lúcio Fantini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Academia Militar MZ and the Real Brasília FC - DMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lúcio Fantini kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. After 93 played minutes, Real Brasília FC - DMZ's Cléber Falcão shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bernardinho Freire came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Real Brasília FC - DMZ reached it. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Real Brasília FC - DMZ lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
