In the 3rd minute of the match Cléber Saraiva shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Álvaro Costa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 4 minutes, Rogério Pimenta made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Barões F. C.'s Álvaro Costa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Narciso Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dadá Mandrak having to interfere. 10 minutes into the game, Conrado Leite was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guararapes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barões F. C. the free kick. Conrado Leite hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. A collision led to Barões F. C. getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. José Maria Fantini hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Barões F. C.'s Flávio Godoi got a free kick in the 19th minute. Rogério Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Costa having to interfere. Narciso Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Dadá Mandrak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Barões F. C. booed when Guararapes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Gabriel Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute of the match Leonardo Souto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dadá Mandrak showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Guararapes's Conrado Leite got his second yellow card of the match in the 27th minute. The referee ordered Conrado Leite off the ground. A collision led to Guararapes getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Conrado Leite hit a great ball. Dadá Mandrak was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Leonardo Souto. Flávio Godoi might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dadá Mandrak. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Flávio Godoi ran back to his position shaking his head. When Rogério Pimenta came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Guararapes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogério Pimenta couldn't finish the play. In the 35th minute, Mário Marques got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 39 minutes, Cléber Saraiva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guararapes and the Barões F. C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 39th minute, Cléber Saraiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Narciso Velasco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dadá Mandrak was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. With a little luck, Guararapes's Dadá Mandrak got control of the ball when Narciso Velasco tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Narciso Velasco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Guararapes's Dadá Mandrak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramiro Recife in the 54th minute of play. Dadá Mandrak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flávio Godoi in the 55th minute of play. Dadá Mandrak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Narciso Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Narciso Velasco in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dadá Mandrak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Barões F. C. booed when Guararapes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murillo Ferreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th match minute, Barões F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flávio Godoi to maneuver through the defense. When Barões F. C.'s Narciso Velasco in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Guararapes's goalie prevented a goal. Guararapes's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 78thth minute of the game Narciso Velasco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guararapes's Dadá Mandrak was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 81st minute, Tiago Gabriel Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dadá Mandrak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Narciso Velasco's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. The supporters of Guararapes booed when Barões F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilton Trancoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amadeu Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Guararapes's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Guararapes's Murillo Ferreira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Álvaro Costa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Guararapes eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
