Álvaro Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogério Pimenta in the 21st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rogério Pimenta in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Álvaro Costa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Amadeu Azevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amadeu Azevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Amadeu Azevedo hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Guararapes's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Murillo Ferreira in the 28th minute. After taking down the ball on Guararapes's corner Murillo Ferreira fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Álvaro Costa quite easily take care of the ball. With his leg Álvaro Costa managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Guararapes's Rogério Pimenta fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 32 minutes of play Barões F. C.'s Amadeu Azevedo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 32 played minutes Barões F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Amadeu Azevedo. In the 33rd minute of the match Murillo Ferreira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Álvaro Costa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Álvaro Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rogério Pimenta's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. The corner led Guararapes's Murillo Ferreira to fire away a dangerous shot which Álvaro Costa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rogério Pimenta made a kick off. The Guararapes fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when Guararapes's Rogério Pimenta looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the referee blew the final whistle, Guararapes could leave the field as winners, despite Barões F. C. having more of the ball for most of the match.
