Márcio Freitas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Moreto F.C. - Capivari's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ulisses Lago was slow to take the kick. During this time Palmeiras's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Moreto F.C. - Capivari getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. If Ademir Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 29 minutes, Ademir Senna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palmeiras and the Moreto F.C. - Capivari players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Palmeiras getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Ademir Senna hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Telmo Guimarães's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Márcio Freitas was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Palmeiras were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after Moreto F.C. - Capivari's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ulisses Lago took the corner. Artur de Azevedo hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Ulisses Lago didn't quite understand what happened when in the 44 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Perivaldo Maciel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Guto Brito made a huge save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ronaldinho Cosme stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Guto Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michel Bastos in the 51st minute of the match. Ademir Senna was shown his second yellow card after 53 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Palmeiras getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Ademir Senna hit a great ball. In the 57th minute, Michel Bastos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ronaldinho Cosme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guto Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Téo Trancoso in the 61st minute of play. Guto Brito stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronaldinho Cosme's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. In the 69th minute Ronaldinho Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guto Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artur de Azevedo in the 74th minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Márcio Freitas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute, Ulisses Lago sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Moreto F.C. - Capivari's Guto Brito didn't even have to move. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Paulinho Costa got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Palmeiras's Márcio Freitas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Falcão Toscano in the 83rd minute of play. The supporters of Moreto F.C. - Capivari booed when Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olívio Sabóia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donato de Senna's late challenge caught a Palmeiras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donato de Senna helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Palmeiras booed when Moreto F.C. - Capivari was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Telmo Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
